What can you expect from us?

When experiencing Bowen therapy for the first time you will no doubt have several questions relating to what you can expect from your Bowen treatment. So to relieve any anxiety you may have below we have outlined the answers to some of the more common questions we get asked about Bowen therapy.

How safe is Bowen therapy?

Because there is no force or manipulation applied during bowen therapy treatment, it is appropriate for everyone and is totally safe.  Actually, due to the gentle movements that are involved in Bowen therapy it makes it appropriate for infants, the young and the old and for those who have sustained acute injuries.

How many treatments will I require to get my body right?

There is not a definitive answer to this question. Everybody has there own level of current health and everyone’s bodies react differently to the treatment due to the multiple systems of the body that are influenced by Bowen therapy. From my experience most people will experience results after a small number of regular treatments. However, if an individual is experiencing a chronic ailment then it can take longer for the body to remediate and correct the issue/s.

Scheduled maintenance treatment has been effective for many of our customers to assist in preventing a recurrence of the initial problem. We encourage regular treatments to keep your body in top condition. The time in between maintenance treatments will vary and will be assessed once your condition is stable.

What is the duration of a Bowen therapy session?

Normally the first session will take between 60 to 90 minutes.  During this initial consultation, there is time taken to understand your history and current status of your health condition.  Further, a number of assessments will be conducted to determine the most appropriate type and level of Bowen treatment. Subsequent Bowen treatments will take up to 60 minutes to complete.

We can offer Bowen Therapy treatments to anyone that has a self managed NDIS plan.

Is there anything I need to do before my treatment?

It is advisable not to have had any other treatments or therapies 4 days prior to your Bowen treatment otherwise you may be asked to reschedule your appointment.

What clothing should I wear for my treatment?

It is fine to apply Bowen therapy directly to the skin (using towels) or through light clothing.

Note: Modest underwear is advised if you have chosen to be treated directly on the skin. If you have chosen to be treated in light clothes, to ensure an effective treatment, make sure that they are loose or stretchy.
